    I wanted to write a "Spartan Short" that is a little unconventional.  Last evening your York Tech Spartan Baseball team had a home contest against the number one ranked team in the league, the Susquehannock Warriors.  Generally, we share stories about our wins with the staff, which in the past were few and far between.  Unfortunately, last night ended in a loss for our team, but overall it is hard for our coaching staff not to see it as a win.  The game ended in extra innings and we lost by 2 runs.  What was so awesome about this game was our kids effort and sportsmanship during this contest.  Your students (our players) left it all on the field and represented our student body and staff with class and integrity.  This is something our team always does, but I think it is important for our staff to hear.  We have 4 wins on the season, with 6 games left.  Over the past 7 games, the baseball team has won 3 games and the other 4 contests either went into extra innings or ended in a walk off hit by our opponents.  In other words our overall record in no way represents the talent and effort of our kids.  During this season, Coach Stuckey and I have had the pleasure to watch our team’s skill improve and all the players have all grown as young men.  Please congratulate these kids for their effort.  Also, if you have a free evening, please come out and support our team before the end of the season. We have home games Friday (4-28), Monday (5-1), and Thursday (5-4).  The coaching staff and players really appreciate your support.
